Cookiepolicy

We use cookies (and similar techniques) when you visit our websites and / or use our mobile applications (apps). In this policy we want to inform you about which cookies we use and why we do this. We also explain how you can manage those cookies yourself.

This cookie policy applies to all Sirejacob websites and mobile apps, unless otherwise specified by the specific website or application. This cookie policy can be changed at any time, for example if our services or the applicable legislation require it. We therefore invite you to always consult the latest version of this policy on our website.

If cookies collect personal data, the processing is always in accordance with the privacy policy of Sirejacob.

What are cookies and similar techniques?

Cookies are small data or text files that are stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit a website or use a mobile app. The cookie files contain unique codes that allow your browser to recognize you, for example you can be identified as a visitor to our websites on a subsequent visit.

Cookies can be used to optimize the functioning and ease of use of websites and mobile apps, such as remembering what is in a shopping cart, supporting users to log in to a website or analyzing traffic on a website in order to to make it function better. Cookies can also be used to map the surfing behavior of the user, so that the content of the website can better respond to the preferences and needs of the user.

In addition to classic cookies, we also use similar techniques, such as javascripts, etc. All these techniques are hereafter referred to as "cookies" and are processed in the same way.

Cookies are divided into different categories based on origin, function and lifespan. Chapter 3 of this cookie policy explains which types of cookies are used by Sirejacob and for what purposes.

Where do cookies come from?

Based on origin, we make a distinction between cookies that we place and manage ourselves (first party cookies) and cookies that are placed on our websites and mobile apps by third parties (third party cookies).

Third-party cookies are cookies that are placed by a website other than the website you are visiting. These cookies ensure that certain data is forwarded to third parties as a result of your visit to our websites or use of our mobile apps. The cookies placed by social network services such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are a good example of this. By placing buttons ("Like" button, "Share" button, ...) of these social networks on a website, cookies are placed that can track your surfing behavior. But other third parties, such as advertisers, can also place cookies to ensure that you see certain advertisements.

When we allow third parties to place cookies on our websites, we ensure that this is done as controlled as possible. These parties must, for example, contractually guarantee a secure connection over which data is exchanged.

Third-party cookies are fully managed by third parties and Sirejacob has no control over how these third parties manage the relevant cookies and use the data collected through this way. We therefore recommend that you consult the privacy statement and cookie policy of the relevant third parties if you would like more information about this.

What types of cookies do we use and for what purposes?

Different types of cookies can be placed via our various websites and / or mobile apps. The cookies can be divided into different categories:

  • Category 1: Functionally necessary and analytical cookies
  • Category 2: Commercial cookies and adwords

Category 1: Functionally necessary and analytical cookies

Functionally necessary and analytical cookies are minimally necessary for our websites and mobile apps to work properly, to improve them and to optimize the user experience.

These cookies are not intended to focus on one specific person, but are used only for aggregated statistical and performance-oriented purposes. This data is therefore not used for marketing purposes or for third-party purposes.

These cookies are set by default and cannot be adjusted, otherwise we cannot guarantee the best user experience and it is also possible that certain parts and / or functionalities of our websites and mobile apps do not work (properly).

We use functionally necessary cookies to enable you to navigate the website and / or use our mobile apps, to use the functions of the website and / or mobile apps and the choice and selections (such as login names, shopping cart, language choice, ...) that you made during your previous visit or previous use of our mobile app so that you do not have to set your preferences every time you visit.

Analytical cookies collect aggregated data about the use of our websites and mobile apps, such as the number of visitors, which web pages are visited most often and the time users spend on a particular web page. Based on this data, we can improve our websites and mobile apps and optimize the user experience. We can also rely on third-party cookies for this, such as Google Analytics.

Category 2: Commercial cookies

We ask your permission in advance for the use of these cookies. You can therefore refuse that these cookies are placed on your device by setting your cookie preferences.

To be clear, even if you have not given your permission for these cookies, you will still see advertising messages. Those ads are likely to be less relevant as they are not tailored to your likely interests. But the choice is entirely up to you whether or not to get "tailor-made" advertisements.

How long do cookies last?

Based on the duration of the cookies, we also make a distinction between temporary and permanent cookies:

  • Temporary cookies: these cookies are temporarily stored in your browser or mobile app. As soon as the browser or mobile app is closed, these cookies are automatically deleted.
  • Permanent cookies: these cookies remain on your computer, tablet or smartphone, even if you have already closed your browser or mobile app. Thanks to these cookies, we can recognize you if you visit our website or mobile app at a later time. Persistent cookies remain on your device until their end date has been reached, until a new version of the cookie is installed, or until you delete them yourself via the settings of your browser or mobile app.

How can you manage your cookie settings?

We give you the opportunity to determine to what extent we can use your cookies. Accepting cookies does not mean that you can be directly identified unless you have provided us with information that can directly identify you, such as information related to registration (e.g. when registering in a private zone and creating a login)

You can communicate your cookie preferences in these ways:

During your first visit:

When you first visit one of our websites, you will be notified to make your choice regarding cookies via a cookie wall. You will be given the choice to accept or adjust the recommended cookies according to your preferences. If you do not choose the recommended cookies, you can choose on the screen which type of cookies (accompanied by a brief explanation) you wish to accept and which not.

As long as you have not made a choice, the default cookie setting is active.

If there are important changes to the cookie policy or the cookies placed on our websites / mobile apps, you will automatically be given the opportunity to adjust your settings via the cookie banner. If nothing changes, you will receive a reminder once a year regarding your cookie preferences.

After your first visit:

If you visit our website or mobile app after you have indicated your cookie preferences during a first visit on the same device, you will no longer see a cookie banner (unless your permission is no longer valid or there are important changes to the cookie policy or the cookies placed).

However, you retain full control over your cookie settings: you can adjust your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "cookie settings" button at the bottom of our websites or in the mobile app settings.

In your browser settings

Most web browsers are configured by default to automatically accept cookies. You can change your browser settings at any time by adjusting preferences that can allow or refuse all or certain cookies, delete the already stored cookies or notify you when a cookie has been placed.

Each browser type has its own settings for managing cookies. The information can be found on the website of the browser you are using. Please note that changing the settings may cause some elements on the websites and other websites to no longer function optimally. The same goes for the mobile apps.
